Background

Nikolaus von Freiburg is the son of Badner immigrants and a staunch advocate for Badner independence.

Political career

He is the current chair of the FLP-Florida and a member of the national FLP committee. In 1963 he was chosen as the official campaigner for the FLP. Although born in Montana, he moved to Florida later in life.

Von Freiburg has been involved in three campaigns: an unsuccessful run for the Senate, a successful run to become the 2nd Governor of Florida, and a successful run for the class III Senate seat for Florida. Upon election to the Senate he was further voted in as the minority whip of the Senate. He later became the senior senator for Florida in 1962 following the loss of Senator Powers.
